The Research Professorship Award funds leaders in the early part of their careers to lead research for a fixed five year period, promote effective translation of research, and to strengthen research leadership at the highest academic levels.

This post-doctoral level award aims to provide NIHR Academy Members with specific skills and experience to support the next phase of their research career and make them more competitive in their next funding application.
Advanced Fellowship - opening w/c 30 September, application deadline 1pm, 3 December
The Advanced Fellowship is for those at a post-doctoral level and can be utilised at various points of a researcher’s career development. They are also available with a ‘clinical academic’ option.
Doctoral Fellowship - opening w/c 30 September, application deadline 1pm, 17 December
A Doctoral Fellowship is a three year full-time award that supports individuals to undertake a PhD in an area of NIHR research.
Short Placement Award for Research Collaboration (SPARC) - opening soon
The SPARC scheme allows early stage researchers to spend time in other parts of the NIHR and is designed to foster collaboration and enhance the researcher's early career and CV.
Visiting Speaker Award (VSA) - opening soon
The VSA offers Academy Members based in NIHR Infrastructure the opportunity to present their research and aims to encourage collaboration and help researchers gain experience of presenting.
